News
CIGRE Canada 2025

Conprove attended the CIGRE Canada 2025 Symposium, which took place from September 29 to October 3 in Montreal, Canada. The event brought together 11 of CIGRE’s 16 study committees and was considered one of the most important international symposia in the power sector, fostering strategic discussions on the future of power generation, transmission, and automation.

Our participation was marked by a combination of technical contribution, networking, and hands-on demonstrations, consolidating Conprove as an international reference in testing, automation, and diagnostics for digital substations.

Technical Presentation

One of the highlights of Conprove’s presence at the symposium was the presentation of the technical paper:

“Secondary Injection Testing in Merging Units Considering Low Power Instrument Transformer Technology,” developed in partnership with SecuControl.

The work addressed the challenges and solutions related to the use of Merging Units (MUs) and Low Power Instrument Transformers (LPITs) within the IEC 61850 environment, highlighting how secondary injection testing can enhance reliability and accuracy in digital substations.

Networking and Visits

In addition to scientific contribution, Conprove stood out for direct engagement with international experts. We welcomed distinguished visitors such as Peter Crossley (University of Manchester) and Volker Leitloff (chairman of Study Committee B5), who learned about our testing and diagnostic solutions applied to the power sector.

These meetings reinforced Conprove’s credibility and expanded our presence in a global environment where technical exchanges are essential to the evolution of practices and standards.

Relevance of Our Participation

Being at CIGRE Canada 2025 meant far more than presenting research: it was also an opportunity to strengthen international partnerships, track global trends, and demonstrate that Brazilian technology plays a leading role in advancing digital substations and the practical application of IEC 61850.

Conclusion

The event concluded with Conprove actively taking part in debates, demonstrating technologies, and consolidating its leadership position in innovation. Our presence in Canada marked the importance of uniting science, practice, and international collaboration to strengthen the power sector.
