Este artigo avalia o desempenho das funções de proteção no domínio da frequência e do tempo disponíveis em dispositivos de proteção micro processados quando estes estão aplicados a uma linha de transmissão de 500 kV/60 Hz. A linha interliga uma usina de geração de energia eólica a um sistema de energia tradicional. O sistema de teste foi modelado e simulado por meio do software Power System Simulator (PS Simul), e através deste foi possível avaliar diferentes cenários de falta variando os parâmetros como localização da falta, resistência da falta e ângulo de início.
